Hawaiian Airlines Reports Increase in December Traffic

Hawaiian Holdings reported late Monday a 7.5% increase in December passenger traffic on a capacity increase of 5.4% compared to the prior year period.

For the month of December, passenger traffic, as measured by revenue passenger miles, rose to 1.3 million; capacity, as measured by available seat miles, increased to 1.6 million; total passengers carried were up 2.5% to 927,521 while load factor gained 1.6 points to 84.1%.

For Q4, the company expects to recognize a $5 million non-cash loss from foreign currency translation.
